Tetrium Audio Engine™

The Core of Every Sound.

In DevMedia Technologies

Overview

What it is

Tetrium Audio Engine™ is the foundational, high-performance audio processing framework that powers all Tetrium media products and platforms.

The Problem

Relying on default operating system audio stacks often results in high latency, limited format support, and an inability to run complex DSP chains reliably.

Why it exists

By building a proprietary, low-level audio pipeline, we gain total control over playback, enabling high-resolution audio support, hardware acceleration, and the integration of advanced technologies like Tetrium Surround™.

Engineering Goals

High-Performance

Plugin-ready architecture designed for low-latency playback.

Versatility

Multi-format playback and high-resolution audio support out of the box.

Future-Proof

Built specifically to support future AI audio processing and dynamic effects.

High-Level Technical Overview

The Audio Engine bypasses standard high-level OS audio APIs, interfacing as close to the hardware layer as possible. It features an adaptive buffering system to prevent dropouts during network congestion, and a modular DSP framework that allows effects like EQs, limiters, and spatializers to be chained with sub-millisecond overhead. The architecture is explicitly designed to offload processing to dedicated hardware accelerators when available.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does this replace my device's audio drivers?
No, it operates at the application level but communicates directly with the lowest available OS audio APIs to minimize latency.
