Hardware Requirement

This experiment requires compatible stereo playback. Please wear HEADPHONES to experience the 8D Spatial Audio effect. Listening on a single mono speaker will nullify the spatial effects and may cause audio artifacts.

The Science of 8D Spatial Audio

Standard Stereo relies on hard panning. Sound is routed strictly to the left or right channel, creating a flat "wall" of sound directly between your ears.

Tetrium 8D Spatial™ utilizes HRTF (Head-Related Transfer Functions). By mathematically simulating how sound waves scatter and delay as they wrap around the physical shape of a human head, the digital signal processor (DSP) tricks your brain into perceiving sound originating from outside the physical boundaries of your headphones.

When "Surround" mode is active, the engine maps the audio to a 3D coordinate plane and automatically rotates it 360 degrees around you.
